The hut is situated at an altitude of 1,080 metres, right next to the Schetteregg hiking and skiing area, around seven kilometres outside Egg in the Bregenzerwald. In summer, guests can enjoy peace and tranquillity. Hiking and cycling routes start right on the doorstep, with the Falzalp circular walk being one of the highlights. Alpine cheese dairies along the trails invite you to stop and linger. After an active day, the terrace with its fire pit offers the ideal spot to relax. There is a bus stop for Egg nearby, but a car is recommended for shopping.
In winter, the valley station of the family-friendly Schetteregg ski area is right next to the hut, with a practice lift opposite. Other ski areas such as Mellau-Damüls, Andelsbuch/Niedere and the Bödele are within easy reach. During the season, the ground floor houses office space, a ski storage room and additional toilets.
The hut stands out thanks to its location right next to the skiing and hiking area and its well-maintained facilities. Dogs are welcome in summer; in winter, by prior arrangement. The hut is aimed at families as well as sports and children’s groups; groups coming solely for parties will not be accommodated. Guests staying for three nights or more in summer receive the Bregenzerwald & Großes Walsertal Guest Card, which offers numerous leisure benefits.
