Brienz lies at the eastern end of the lake of Brienz surrounded by a lovely mountain landscape. The homelike village is a starting point for trips to the Bernese Oberland, the open air museum Ballenberg but also to Lucerne, Interlaken or to the alpine passes nearby. The chalets at the foot of the Rothorn are decorated with artistic carvings, the traffic-free promenade at the shore of the lake of Brienz and at the best location: the youthhostel. A lovely beach path leads from the trainstation to the house with terrace and a beautiful view.
